FORMAT:
All players will compete over 36 holes of stroke play. Qualifiers will advance to the 119th U.S. Amateur Championship which will be held at the Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in the Village of Pinehurst, August 12-18, 2019. The final number of qualifying spots at each site will be available from the Committee on the day of play.
REGISTRATION:
There will be no formal registration at this event.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:
Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the tournament. Starting times for Round 1 will range from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 9:30 a.m. For Round 2, starting times will range from 1:00 p.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m.
Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss and distribute to each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive in time to watch the group in front of them tee off.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
Players may make arrangements for practice rounds at their own expense. Please contact the golf shop at (562) 694-1081 to schedule a practice round. Practice rounds are available after July 1st on a space available basis anytime during Tuesday – Sunday. Green fee: $50 (carts are included)
TEES AND YARDAGES
Play will be from the BLACK yardage (blue yardage on Hole 16) and the USGA tee markers.
Hole by hole yardages are available on the Yardages tab within the event portal.
Course Rating: 74.6 / Slope: 143 / approximately 6,920 yards / Par 71.
DRIVING RANGE:
The Driving Range will be open by 6:00 a.m. on the day of the qualifier. Range balls will be provided compliments of the Hacienda GC and will be on the Driving Range. **NOTE: Due to the proximity of the teeing ground on Hole #2, we ask all players to only hit irons on the driving range.
FOOD SERVICE AND PURCHASES:
The snack bar will be open from 6:00 a.m. until the conclusion of play. Cash, reciprocal charge major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases in the golf shop. Cash and reciprocal charge only at the snack bar.
RULES OF PLAY:
- The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and the R&A govern play.
- Local Rules and Terms of the Competition can be found on the USGA Hard Card and the Notice to Players addendum that will be distributed on site.
- One Ball Rule: Model Local Rule G-4 is in effect. During an entire round, each ball at which the player makes a stroke must be the same brand and model as found in a single entry on the current List of Conforming Balls.
- Prohibiting Use of Motorized Transportation: Model Local Rule G-6 is in effect. During a round, a player or caddie must not ride on any form of motorized transportation except as authorized or later approved by the Committee. A player who will play, or has played, under penalty of stroke and distance is always authorized to ride on motorized transportation by a SCGA official.
- Allowing Replacement of Broken or Significantly Damaged Clubs: Model Local Rule G-9 is in effect.
- Ball Played from Outside Relief Area When Taking Back-on-the-Line Relief: Model Local Rule E-12 is in effect.
- Prohibiting Use of Certain Types of Shoes: Model Local Rule G-7 is in effect.

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION / PULL CARTS & PUSH CARTS:
Golf carts are prohibited during the qualifier. Pull carts or push carts are permitted. Hacienda does not have pull or push carts available for rental. Players are permitted to obtain a ride from a rules official when having to go back to play another ball under stroke and distance.
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
Players may provide their own caddie (See section on Automotive Transportation). Caddies must adhere to the dress code listed in section below. Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the club.
DRESS CODE:
Players and caddies must be properly attired in golf shirts, slacks, Bermuda-length dress or golf shorts and soft spike shoes. Jeans (any color or any kind), T-shirts and tank tops will not be permitted. Shirts must be tucked in and hats are to be worn forward at all times.
CANCELLATIONS:
To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of an USGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Rules and Competitions Department at (818) 980-3630, or by clicking here, AND the USGA Championship Administration Department at (908) 234-2300.
